🛹 Choosing the Right Board

I'm a complete beginner. Which board should I get? Start with the 110cm longboard. The longer deck gives your feet more room to find balance, and the soft 78A–82A wheels absorb cracks and rough pavement. Most new riders can push, glide, and stop within their first session on this setup. Our beginner guide walks through four specific scenarios if you want a more tailored answer.

What's the difference between the longboard and the cruiser? The 110cm longboard is more stable, better for campus distances, and the only option if you want to learn dancing or carving. The 72cm cruiser trades some stability for portability — it fits under a desk, in a locker, or on public transit. Both use soft wheels and ship fully assembled.

I'm taller / heavier than average. Does that change anything? Taller riders generally do better on the 110cm longboard — more deck space means a more natural stance. If you're over 200 lbs, check the weight capacity listed on the product page before ordering. That's the one spec that has a direct safety impact.

What's the difference between a longboard and a skateboard? Longboards are built for cruising, commuting, and dancing. Skateboards are built for tricks — ollies, kickflips, skatepark riding. If you want to learn kickflips, get a skateboard. If you want to ride to class or learn footwork on a deck, get a longboard. Full breakdown: Longboard vs Skateboard.

🎓 Learning to Ride

How hard is it to learn? Much easier than a regular skateboard. Most people can push, roll straight, and stop within their first one or two sessions. The wide deck and soft wheels do most of the stabilizing work. Our how-to guide has a day-by-day practice plan for the first two weeks.

What safety gear do I need? A helmet — no exceptions during your first few weeks. Wrist guards are strongly recommended for beginners; the instinct when falling is to catch yourself with your hands. Knee pads are optional but useful if you have zero prior board sports experience.

My trucks feel stiff and hard to turn. Is that normal? Yes. Every board ships with trucks tightened for safe transport. Use a skate T-tool to loosen the kingpin bolt a quarter-turn at a time until the turning feels natural. A T-tool costs $5–8 at any hardware or skate shop.

Warranty

What does the warranty cover? All complete boards include a 1-year warranty on decks and trucks covering manufacturing defects. Normal wear, impact damage, and misuse aren't covered. Full details on our Warranty page.
